JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PT Bank Central Asia (BCA) Tbk (BBCA) reported net profit of Rp6.3 trillion for the first six months ended 30 June 2013, a 19.3% increase compared to Rp5.3 trillion in the same period in 2012.The bank’s operating income increased 22.5% to Rp15.7 trillion from previous Rp12.8 trillion. Net interest margin (NIM) was 5.95%.

BCA’s loan portfolio stood at Rp280.4 trillion in June 2013, up 24.1% compared to Rp226 trillion in June 2012. Consumer loans increased 30.7% to Rp78.4 trillion. Commercial & SME lending increased 24.6% to Rp110.5 trillion. While corporate lending rose 18.4% to Rp91.5 trillion.Third party funds reached Rp683 billion, of which transaction account balances (current and savings accounts or CASA) amounted Rp306 billion. Loan to deposit ratio (LDR) stood at 73.2%.

Meanwhile PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) booked net profit of Rp8.3 trillion in first half of this year, a 16% rise compared to the same period of last year. Budi G Sadikin, BMRI’s president director, said the bank’s operating income increased 17.8% to Rp22.9 trillion.

BMRI’s loan grew by 22.3% to Rp428.7 trillion, then the bank’s total assets rose 17.6% to Rp672.2 trillion. Third party funds reached Rp502.4 trillion, of which deposits accounted for Rp206.6 trillion, a 19% growth.
