JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is expected on Monday (Mar. 30) to face three pre-trial petitions at the South Jakarta District Court filed by three graft suspects.

The three graft suspects filing a pre-trial petition separately against the KPK are Suryadharma Ali, former Minister of Religious Affairs and Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP); Hadi Poernomo, former Chief of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK); and Suroso Atmo Martoyo, former Pertamina’s Director for Processing.

Back in May. 22, 2014, KPK named Suryadharma as suspect in the haj graft case. KPK charged Suryadharma with Article 2 Paragraph 1 or Article 3 of the Anti-Corruption Law juncto Article 65 of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP). KPK previously said they might also charge Suryadharma with the Anti-Money Laundering Law.

Hadi Poernomo, meanwhile, has been named as a graft suspect last year for his alleged role in a Bank Central Asia (BCA) tax case during his tenure as Director General of Taxation in 2002-2004 period. KPK accused Hadi for violating Article 2 Paragraph 1 and or Article 3 of the Anti-Corruption Law due to violating procedure in granting BCA’s tax objection.

While Suroso Atmo Martoyo has been named as a graft suspect since 2011 in a bribery case implicating Innospec Ltd, a subsidiary of a Nasdaq listed company Innospec Inc. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
