JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Vice Chief of the National Police Comr. Gen. Badrodin Haiti, also acting Police Chief, has just signed a regulation on allowing female police officers to wearing the Islamic headscarf or hijab. Hijab policy for police female officers itself has been pros and cons in the last few years.

Badrodin revealed to the press that he has signed the regulation on Tuesday (Mar. 24). So, Badrodin hopes that the hijab policy for female officers can be soon implemented throughout the country.

Badrodin’s move on the issuance of hijab policy has been praised by Muslim-base political parties at the House of Representatives (DPR) as well as Muslim communities.

Badrodin himself is now awaiting for the DPR’s approval over his nomination as the new Chief of the National Police. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
