JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is scheduled on Tuesday (Mar. 24) to question Governor of South Sumatra Alex Noerdin as a witness related to further investigation into athlete dormitory graft case.

KPK’s Spokesperson Priharsa Nugraha said the Golkar Party politician will be questioned as a witness for Rizal Abdullah, former Head of South Sumatra’s Public Works office and one of suspects in the case.

Rizal’s involvement in the case was revealed in the KPK’s indictment against El Idris, former convict in the case. Idris has completed his two-years prison sentence.

In said indictment, Idris mentioned Rizal’s name as one of those who had received fees from the athlete dormitory project. The indictment also mentions Idris’ confession about PT Duta Graha Indah’s (DGI) plan to give a 2.5% fee from the total Rp191 billion fund of the athlete dormitory’s construction project to Alex Noerdin. PT DGI is the winner of the project
tender.

Alex, however, has denied all allegations against him related to the athlete dormitory case, including allegation on receiving fee from El Idris or PT DGI. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
