JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Shareholders of state bank PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Tbk (BBRI) today (March 19) approved to appoint Asmawi Syam as new president director, replacing Sofyan Basir, now serves as president director of state electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).
Asmawi served as director of BRI since September 5, 2007. Sunarso is appointed as vice president.
BRI’s shareholders also appointed Mustafa Abubakar, former minister of state-owned enterprises (SoEs), as chief commissioner of BRI, replacing Bunasor Sanim.
Fuad Rahmany, Adhyaksa Dault, Sony Keraf are appointed as the independent commissioners.
Fuad Rahmany is former director general of tax in the Finance Ministry and former chairman of Capital Market and Financial Institutions Supervisory Agency (Bapepam-LK).
Adhyaksa Dault, a former sports minister. And Sonny Keraf is former State Minister for the Environment.
Vicentius Sony Loho, Jeffry Wurangian, and Gatot M Suwondo are appointed as commissioner of BRI. Gatot M Suwondo is former president director of PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BBNI).
