JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Indonesia recorded trade surplus of US$740 million in February 2015, the Central Bureau of Statistic reported on Monday (March 16).

Last month, Indonesia’s export reached US$12.29 billion while import totaled US$11.55 billion.

February export declined 7.99% from January 2015. Compared to February 2014, the figure dropped 16.02%.

Export of non oil and gas products accounted for US$10.40 billion last month, fell 7.83% from previous month, and declined 12.68% compared to February 2014.

Export of non oil and gas products to United States reached US$1.19 billion, followed by Japan US$1.13 billion, and India US$0.96 billion. Export to 27 countries member of European Union totaled US$1.24 billion.

Meanwhile February 2015’s import declined 8.42% from January 2015, and dropped 16.24% compared to import in February’s 2014.

Import of non oil and gas products last month was US$9.83 billion, declined 6.34% from previous month, and down 4.86% from import in February 2014.

Import of non oil and gas products from China reached US$2.51 billion last month, followed by Japan US$1.26 billion, and Thailand US$0.71 billion.

Indonesia also recorded trade surplus of US$750 million in January 2015. Then, for January-February 2015, the country recorded trade surplus of US$1.49 billion.

In 2014, Indonesia recorded trade deficit of US$1.88 billion with oil and gas deficit totaling US$13.13 billion. While non oil and gas trade contributed surplus of US$11.24 billion.
