JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 0.6% at 4,608 on Tuesday (July 30), but closed off its high as profit taking emerged during afternoon trade.

Most regional markets also closed in green with Japan’s Nikkei gaining 1.53%.

In Jakarta bourse, blue chip stocks led market’s gain. Astra International increased 2.38%, Adaro Energy rose 1.43%, Bank Rakyat Indonesia jumped 3.18%, Kalbe Farma surged 5.26%, Perusahaan Gas Negara hiked 3.5%, and Telkom climbed 3.07%.

Other gainers were Trada Maritim (+0.73%), Media Nusantara Citra (+2.46%), Global Mediacom (+2.15%), and Bank Bukopin (+1.54%).

The losers included Bumi Resoures (-2.08%), Lippo Karawaci (-2.29%), Waskita Karya (-1.3%), Wijaya Karya (-2.35%), and Bumi Resources Minerals (-8.89%).

The rupiah weakened further to Rp10,277 against the US Dollar.
