JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) regained 0.3% to close at 5461 at the morning trade Tuesday, supported by gains in banking stocks.
IDX fell 0.4% at the opening trade while regional markets were mixed. U.S. stocks closed higher on Monday, recovering from Friday’s sharp decline as investors took a more positive outlook on the strong jobs report.
Among banking stocks, Bank Negara Indonesia gained 1.49%, Bank Tabungan Negara rose 1.34%, Bank Mandiri hiked 1.27%, while Panin Bank jumped 9.09%.
Other gainers were Wijaya Karya (+1.46%), Multipolar (+2.13%), Matahari Putra Prima (+1.74%), and Berau Coal (+5.13%). While Visi Media fell 2.73%, Perusahaan Gas Negara declined 1.4%), and Media Nusantara Citra lost 2.5%.
