JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Marwan Effendy, 61, has passed away on Monday (Mar. 9) night at the Prince Court Medical Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia due to heart attack, Kompas.com reported.

Spokesperson of the Attorney General Office (AGO) Tony T Spontana, as quoted by Kompas, confirmed Marwan died at around 11:35 pm of local time or 10:35 pm of Jakarta time.

Marwan started his career as a state prosecutor in 1980. He held several strategic positions at the AGO, including Head of the AGO’s Training & Education Center and the AGO’s Prosecutor Director for Special Crimes.

Marwan also served as Head of the East Java High Prosecutor office. Prior to his term at the East Java High Prosecutor office, he served at Jakarta and Lampung. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
