JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The country’s legendary pop-rock band Slank expressed their willingness to hold concert to support the Governor of Jakarta Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama against impeachment process launched by the city legislative council (DPRD).
Abdee Slank revealed the plan to journalists when attended a public rally staged in front of the Jakarta city hall, Monday (Mar. 2). The guitarist, however, has yet revealed time and place of the concert.
If necessary, Abdee Slank said Slank will hold concert along with other artists to support Ahok in the war against corruption committed by the DPRD members.
The recent conflict between Ahok and the DPRD Jakarta is related to the deliberation process of the Jakarta 2015 provincial budget (APBD). The DPRD Jakarta has launched a motion to use its inquiry right against Ahok that by law the motion could lead into impeachment. The DPRD accused Ahok of deliberately sabotaging their budgeting right.
Ahok, meanwhile, fights back by revealing about DPRD’s engineering on a mysterious Rp12.1 trillion budget into the Jakarta 2015 APBD. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
