JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Lawyer team of Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, Australian citizens and the two death-row drug convict known as members of the Bali Nine, have asked the Indonesian government to postpone the execution over their clients.

Todung Mulya Lubis, member of the Bali Nine Duo’s lawyer team, said he has filed an appeal to challenge the previous ruling from the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN).

The PTUN Jakarta, as reported earlier, has rejected a petition filed by the Bali Nine Duo’s lawyer team against the decision of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo that ruled out clemency for their clients.

Previously, President Jokowi has repeatedly stated that he will not grant any clemency for all of the death-row drug convicts. The President said that his decision is a form of his war against drug dealers in the country.

Following the President’s decision, the Attorney General Office (AGO) is now preparing the execution over the death-row drug convicts, including the Bali Nine Duo. The AGO has earlier executed six death-row drug convicts, including one Indonesian citizen. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
