JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Judiciary Council of the Golkar Party has ruled on Tuesday (Mar. 3) that they have partly granted the petition from Agung Laksono’s Golkar against Aburizal “Ical” Bakrie’s Golkar.

In the conclusion, two members of the Judiciary Council, Andi Mattalata and Djasri Marin recognized Agung’s Golkar as legitimate. While two other members of the Council (Muladi and Natabaya) gave dissenting opinion which did not favor Ical’s Golkar.

Commenting to the verdict of the Judiciary Council, Agung Laksono said that his side will soon submit a proposal to the Ministry of Law & Human Rights for seeking of official recognition.

Indra J Piliang of Agung’s Golkar said that, accordance to Law No. 2/2011 regarding the Amandment of the Political Party Law No. 2/2008, the verdict from the Party’s Judiciary Council is final and binding.

Ical’s Golkar, meanwhile, comes with different interpretation. Bambang Soesatyo of Ical’s Golkar denied Agung’s victory. Another member of Ical’s Golkar Fadel Muhammad added that his side will continue the legal battle into the courts. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
