PHILIPPINES (Yosefardi) – Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), a major operating associate of First Pacific, controlled by Salim Group, booked profit attributable to owners of 34.09 billion pesos in 2014, 2.8% lower than 35.42 billion pesos in 2013.

Revenue increased 1.9% to 170.96 billion pesos from previous 168.33 billion pesos. Service revenue was 165.07 billion, up from 164.05 billion pesos in 2013.

Its assets grew by 9.3% to 436.29 billion while liability rose 14.9% to 436.29 million.

PLDT is the leading telecommunications provider in the Philippines. It has one of the largest market capitalizations among Philippine listed companies. PLDT has developed the Philippines’ most extensive fiber optic backbone, and cellular and fixed line networks.
