KUALA LUMPUR (Yosefardi) – Axiata Group Berhad (Axiata), one of Asia’s largest telecommunications companies, through its digital services unit, Axiata Digital Services (ADS), announced the launch of MIFE, its own Application Programme Interface (API) platform for all of its Operating Companies (OpCos) across Asia.

Internally built by Dialog Axiata Group’s development team and powered by WSO2’s class leading open source middleware technology, the MIFE service is designed to help Axiata’s OpCos fully leverage emerging digital opportunities as part of its overall digital strategy. The service will allow for faster engagement and partnerships, opening up a new way of doing business in the digital space.

While Indosat, member of Ooredoo Group, announced on Monday (March 2) at Mobile World Congress the launch of Indonesia Mobile Exchange (IMX), a joint venture digital mobile-first Real-Time Bidding (RTB) Advertising Exchange in partnership with Smaato, a leading global mobile RTB Ad Exchange. Indosat’s existing mobile advertising offering, i-klan, which currently sits within its Digital Services unit, will become part of the joint venture.

IMX will leverage Indosat’s reach in Indonesia through its 55 million mobile customers, Indosat’s business customers, and the global reach of Smaato’s mobile exchange technology through which it is already serving close to 5 billion impressions a month in Indonesia.
