JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The acting Chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Taufiequrachman Ruki revealed about 36 graft cases to be finished by the KPK this year.

Ruki said the KPK definitely needs substantial number of additional investigators in order to finish its investigation into said 36 graft cases within the next ten months.

Ruki, however, also criticized his institution. The retired Police general said KPK’s decision to be always in a rush on naming someone as a graft suspect during this time put KPK itself into difficulty in handling overload cases.

As reported earlier, Ruki has proposed a request to the National Police to send 50 additional investigators to the KPK. Deputy Chief of the National Police Comr. Gen Badrodin Haiti, meanwhile, said that the Police will grant KPK’s request. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
