JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Judicial Commission (KY) revealed that about 21 out of 36 candidates selected for becoming Justices of the Supreme Court (MA) are old faces, including former Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Ahmad Fadlil Sumadi.
Taufiqurrohman Syahuri of the Judicial Commission, however, ensured that the selection process is transparent. Taufiq, moreover, said that the Commission allowed public scrutiny over the candidates.
The Judicial Commission has opened registration period of Supreme Justices candidates from Dec. 29, 2014 to Jan. 19, 2015.
This week, the Judicial Commission will conduct medical and personality tests before finally choosing 8 out of 36 candidates to fill eight vacant positions of justices at the Supreme Court. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
