JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Graft suspect and former Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources (ESDM) Jero Wacik failed to answer the summon from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for another questioning on Wednesday (Feb. 4) related to the graft scandals at the ESDM Ministry.
KPK’s official Priharsa Nugraha said Jero Wacik’s lawyer has visited KPK’s office to explain their client’s reason to not answer KPK’s call. Priharsa, however, didn’t reveal Jero Wacik’s explanation.
Priharsa only said that KPK has rescheduled the questioning over the Democratic Party key leader to Feb. 11, 2015.
As reported earlier, former Minister of Religious Affairs Suryadharma Ali, who is a graft suspect in a different case, also refused KPK’s summon for Wednesday’s questioning. Suryadharma, who is also former PPP Chairman, was named as suspect in a case of the haj pilgrimage fund.
Both Jero Wacik and Suryadharma Ali were members of SBY-Boediono’s cabinet. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
