JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Aziz Syamsuddin, Golkar Party lawmaker and the Head of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission III, revealed the possibility to accelerate the succession of leadership at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) following police reports against the current KPK leaders.

Aziz, however, said President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo should issue the government regulation in lieu of law (Perpu) regarding the acceleration of the succession of the KPK leaders.

As reported earlier, three KPK leaders have been reported to the National Police’s Criminal Investigation (Bareskrim Polri). They were KPK Deputy Chief Bambang Widjojanto, KPK Deputy Chief Adnan Pandu Pradja, and KPK Chief Abraham Samad. Bambang even has been named as suspect.

A group of people called themselves as the East Java People Alliance, meanwhile, revealed their plan to soon file a police report against another KPK Deputy Chief, Zulkarnain. While KPK Deputy Chief Busyro Muqoddas has ended his term since December 2014.

The succession of the five KPK leaders itself is already scheduled in December 2015. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
