JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo took the oath of the new nine members of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) at the State Palace, Monday (Jan. 19).

Six out of nine members of President’s Advisory Council are politicians from the Great Indonesia ruling coalition (KIH).

Here is the list of nine members of the President’s Advisory Council;

1. Sidarta Danusubrata, PDI-P politician
2. Suharso Monoarfa, PPP politician
3. Jan Darmadi, Nasdem Party politician
4. Rusdi Kirana, businessman and PKB politician
5. Yusuf Kartanegara, a PKPI politician
6. Subagyo Hadi Siswoyo, a Hanura Party politician
7. Sri Adiningsih, an economist from the Gadjah Mada University (UGM), member of Jokowi’s economy team, and member of the Megawati Institute’s Expert Council
8. Hasyim Muzadi, former Megawati Soekarnoputri’s running mate in 2004 presidential election and former Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), the largest Muslim organization in the country
9. Abdul Malik Fadjar, former Minister of Education under Megawati Soekarnoputri’s administration and respected figure among members of the Muhammadiyah, the second largest Muslim organization in the country.

The name of former Chief of the National Intelligence Agency (BIN) Abdullah Machmud Hendropriyono, meanwhile, is not on the list. National media earlier mentioned Hendropriyono’s name as potential candidate for becoming member of the President’s Advisory Council. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
