JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 0.51% at 5214 on Tuesday (Jan 13) but trade was very volatile. The index moved at range of 5197-5217 during the day trading.
Asian stocks were mostly on the defensive on Tuesday as the continuing slide in crude oil prices turned investors cautious towards risk assets, Reuters reported.
Nymex’s crude oil fell further 2.87% to US$46.97 per barrel while gold rose 0.75% to US$1,243 per ounce. The rupiah weakened again to Rp12,608 against the US dollar.
At Jakarta bourse, investors focused buying stocks related to MNC Group. Global Mediacom soared 16.18%, Media Nusantara Citra jumped 8.41%, MNC Investama surged 7.09%, and Indonesia Transport gained 1.15%. MNC Sky Vision also rose 5.88% but in thin volume.
Bumi Resources also jumped 14%, Astra International hiked 2.5%, Matahari Putra Prima lifted 2.67%, and Berau Coal climbed 6.58%.
Shares of PT Bank Yudha Bhakti Tbk (BBYB) soared 69.57% to Rp195 per share on its trading debut today. Some 41.63 million shares were exchanged hands with trading value of Rp8.09 billion.
Among losers were Pakuwon Jati (-7.88%), Adaro Energy (-3.02%), BW Plantation (-1.79%), Lippo Karawaci (-1.92%), Perusahaan Gas Negara (-3.02%), and Trada Maritim (-17.78%).
