JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) revealed Friday (January 2) that December inflation was 2.46%, compared to 1.5% in previous month.

All 82 cities recorded inflation. Highest inflation occurred in Merauke while the lowest occurred in Meulaboh.

The inflation was contributed by staple food (3.22%), processed food, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco (1.96%), housing, water, electricity, gas, fuel (1.45%), clothing (0.64%), health (0.74%), education, recreation, and sport (0.36%), and transportation, communication, finance services (5.55%).

Year to date’s inflation and year-on-year’s inflation reach 8.36% each.
