JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Djarot Syaiful Hidayat has been sworn in as new Vice Governor of Jakarta in the inauguration ceremony held at the Jakarta Balai Agung (Grand Hall) building, Wednesday (Dec. 17).
Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama led the inauguration. Also attended were PDI-P Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri, Commander of the Jakarta Regional Military (Pangdam Jaya) Maj. Gen. Agus Sutomo, and Speaker of the Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Edi Marsudi, etc.
Prior to the inauguration, Djarot Syaiful Hidayat served as PDI-P lawmaker at the House of Representatives (DPR).
Born in Gorontalo, on Oct. 30, 1955, the 59-year-old PDI-P politician served as Regent of Blitar regency in East Java for two periods from 2000 to 2010. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
