JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) dropped further 1.6% to close at 5026 on Tuesday (Dec 16). It lost 1% in previous trading day.
Sliding oil prices and a downbeat China factory survey weighed on Asian shares on Tuesday, Reuters reported.
Investors focused selling energy stocks. Energi Mega dropped 5% and Elnusa lost 5.47%. Among coal stocks, Bumi Resources fell 7.35%, Bumi Resources Minerals shed 6.08%, and Berau Coal slashed 6.06%.
Property stocks were also target of sell-off today. Alam Sutera dropped 8.93%, Sentul City lost 6.42%, Jababeka fell 6.6%, and Pakuwon Jati shed 5.62%.
Other losers were Global Mediacom (-5.03%), Multipolar (-4.62%), and Matahari Putra Prima (-5.14%).
While Adaro Energy gained 1.46%, Astra International rose 1.07%, and Aneka Tambang increased 1.57%.
Nymex’s crude oil dropped 2.25% to US$54.65 per barrel and gold fell 0.78% to US$1,198.30 per ounce.
Bank Indonesia recorded mid rate of rupiah at Rp12,900 on Tuesday, weakened from Rp12,599 on Monday (Dec 15).
