JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The death toll rises into 42 people following the latest found of 22 other death bodies by the rescue team, third day after a landslide in Karangkobar, Banjarnegara, Central Java, late Friday (Dec. 12), Tempo reported.
At the time of writing, more than 1,000 rescuers, including police and soldiers, have still digging the red mud to find ten other victims. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has also already visited the location on Sunday.
The rescue team said that 66 people are still missing after heavy rain triggered the landslide that swallowed up houses in Jemblung village, Sampang, Karangkobar.
500 others residents, meanwhile, have been evacuated from the location. ( haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
