JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Minister of Law & Human Rights Yasonna Laoly said his ministry will announce the decision about the legal status of Golkar parties, now divided into 2 warring factions, under leadership of Aburizal “Ical” Bakrie and Agung Laksono.
The ministry of law & human rights will determine one of Golkar’s faction as legitimate on Dec. 16 or 17, 2014.
So the ministry has seven days ahead to take decision on the dispute of Golkar’s central executive board accordance to the Law No. 2/2011 regarding Political Party.
Ical re-elected as Golkar Chairman in the party’s chairmanship congress (munas) in Bali which opted to remain staying with the opposition group at the House of Representatives (DPR), known as the Red-and-White coalition (KMP).
While Agung Laksono was elected as Golkar Chairman in another Golkar Munas in Jakarta. Golkar’s Munas in Jakarta opted to fully support Jokowi-Kalla’s administration.
Both Ical and Agung have submitted their own versions of the new line-up of Golkar’s central executive board (DPP) to the Law Ministry in order seeking for legalization.(haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
