JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – National motorcycles sales reached 587,131 units in November 2014, dropped 15% from 688,527 units in November 2013, mainly due to lower purchasing power following the subsidized fuel price hike.

Compared to October 2014 sales (680,642 units) the figure declined 13.7%.

In November 2014, Honda sold 425,409 units, followed by Yamaha 263,771 units, Suzuki 17,911 units, Kawasaki 12,290 units, and TVS 1,321 units.

Year to date, national motorcycle sales reached 7,347,688 units, grew by 1.8% from 7,218,606 units in January-November 2013 period.

Honda sales was 4,679,247 units (63.68%), Yamaha 2,229,778 units (30.3%), Suzuki 263,711 units (3.59%), Kawasaki 154,126 units (2.1%), and TVS 20,766 units (0.28%).

The Indonesia Motorcycles Industry Association (AISI) is optimistic national motorcycles sales to reach 8 million units this year, compared to 7.7 million units last year.
