JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), Chairman of Democratic Party, schedules to meet President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo at the State Palace on Monday (Dec. 8), the State Palace’s Press Bureau revealed.
The Press Bureau said the meeting is scheduled at around 1:00 PM of Jakarta time. After a meeting with President Jokowi, SBY will meet Vice President Jusuf Kalla at the Vice Presidential’s office at around 2:00 PM.
There is no confirmation yet about the agenda to be discussed in the said meetings.
But there is speculation that the meetings might be related to the deliberation of the goverment regulation in lieu of law No. 1/2015 (or known as the Direct Regional Election Perppu).
As earlier reported, the House of Representatives (DPR) is expected to either to accept or to reject Perppu 1/2014 in the next House plenary session in January 2015.
SBY issued Perppu 1/2014 to replace the controversial Indirect Regional Election Law No. 22/2014 in the end of his term on Oct. 2, 2014. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
