JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues its investigation into forest area conversion bribery scandal by questioning wife and son of Annas Maamun, Riau Governor and Golkar Party key leader, one of suspects in the case.

KPK’s Head for News & Informations Priharsa Nugraha confirmed on Thursday (Nov. 13) that KPK will question Annas’ wife Latifah Hanum and their son Noor Charis Putra as witnesses today.

Three other witnesses, including Annas’ adjutant and Annas’ driver, are also scheduled for  being questioned today, Priharsa added.

As reported earlier, KPK has named Annas Maamun as one of suspects in the case. Anas along with a businessman Gulat Medali Emas Manurung were caught red handed by KPK’s investigators in a bribery transaction in Cibubur, East Jakarta. KPK has also seized Rp500 million and Sin$156,000 cash money from the transaction.

Yesterday, KPK examined Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and PAN politician Zulkifli Hasan as a witness in the case for two-days a row since Tuesday. That was the third examination for the former Minister of Forestry, who has also been questioned in another forest area conversion bribery scandal implicating PT Bukit Jonggol Asri (BJA).
