JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Tower provider PT Komet Infra Nusantara (KIN) partners with PT Indonesia Comnets Plus (Icon+) to strengthen its tower business expansion in welcoming the long term evolution (LTE) era, Bisnis Indonesia reported this morning.
Under the cooperation agreement, Icon+ will lease its extra-high voltage power line (Sutet) to be managed as base transceiver station (BTS) by KIN.
Icon+, subsidiary of state electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), will also provide fiber optic infrastructure for towers of KIN.
PLN has 30,000 Sutet in Java island. While KIN targets to manage 1,025 towers in 2015 and will add to 3,500 towers one year after.
KIN’s tower business expansion will be funded by its parent PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk (META), member of Rajawali Group.
