JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Attorney General Office (AGO) on Wednesday (Nov. 5) has named the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Director for Buddhism Education Heru Budi Santosa for allegedly committing graft related to the Rp7.2 billion procurement project of textbooks for Buddhist students.
AGO’s Spokesperson Tony Tribagus Spontana said the AGO also named four other suspects in the case. They are the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ former Director for the Islamic Guidance Directorate A. Joko Wuryanto, CEO PT Samoa Raya Samson Waringin, CEO CV Kurnia Jaya Edi Sriyanto, and Wilton Nabeat. PT Samoa Raya and CV Kurnia Jaya were the winners of the project tender.
The five suspects have been charged with Article 2 and Article 3 of the Anti-Corruption Law.
Previously, the Religious Ministry had been rocked by graft scandal related to trillion of rupiah of the ministry’s haj fund that implicating former Religious Minister Suryadharma Ali, also former PPP Chairman. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) which handled the haj graft case had named Suryadharma as suspect. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
