JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Minister of Public Works & Public Housing Basuki Hadimoeljono revealed on Thursday (Oct. 30) that the central government targets to build 15 new reservoirs across the country in the first year of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s term.
Talking to the press at the State Palace after a cabinet meeting with the President and Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Basuki said the development of the new reservoirs is part of realizing the President’s food sovereignty dream.
He said the President has given a lot of concerns on the development of reservoirs and irrigation system.
Basuki, moreover, said that those reservoirs will be built in priority places, among others in Krueng Keureuto (Aceh), Pamarayan (Banten), Logung, Kudus (Central Java), and Namo (East Nusa Tenggara). (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
