JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo visited the victims of eruption of Mount Sinabung in Karo, North Sumatera, on Wednesday (Oct. 29), 10th day of his presidency.
The President has delivered aid in form of basic commodities (sembako) packages and Rp119.5 million cash money to Sinabung victims.
Talking directly to the hundreds of victims, President Jokowi said each family would get a package of basic commodities and Rp500,000 cash money.
As reported earlier, Sinabung volcano has erupted for the first time on Sep. 13, 2013 and continues to erupt in the last thirteen months, killing 16 residents and displacing 26,000 residents.
The National Agency for Natural Disaster Mitigation (BNPB) earlier reported the residents are now sheltered in 28 locations and rental houses. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
