JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Newly Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Indroyono Soesilo revealed on Tuesday (Oct. 28) that Vice President Jusuf Kalla has set four priority guidelines to be conducted by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs.
Talking to the press after a meeting with Vice President Kalla and Coordinating Minister for the Economy Sofyan Djalil, Indroyono said he has been asked to soon focus on:
1) Improving the electricity volume that related to the energy & mineral resources projects
2) Improving promotion of the country’s tourism, especially related to culture, natural resources, and hospitality’s services
3) Overcoming the electricity problems in each fishing port across the country
4) Simplifying the investment permit to attract investors to the development of the so-called Sea Toll from Sabang to Merauke.
Indroyono added he will soon discuss that four priority guidelines, including the details of the development of the Sea Toll, with related ministries.
As Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Indroyono coordinates four ministries; Transportation Ministry, Fishery & Maritime Ministry, Tourism Ministry, and Energy & Mineral Resources Ministry (ESDM).
The newly Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs was established with a big task of realizing President Jokowi’s big maritime dreams.
The newly-established Ministry, however, is facing first challenges as the Ministry does not have its own office, staffs, and budget. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
