JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Yet another surprise! President Joko Widodo has appointed Arief Yahya, CEO of state-owned telecommunication giant PT Telkom (TLKM) Tbk, as minister of tourism affairs.
“He is a marketer. Hopefully he can promote more our tourism potentials,” said President Joko Widodo in the announcement of cabinet lineup Sunday (Oct 26).
Other names previously tipped for the job include Puspayoga (former vice governor of Bali) and Emirsyah Satar (CEO of Garuda Indonesia). Puspayoga, however, is appointed minister of small medium enterprises and cooperatives.
