JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned Janedri Mahilli Gaffar, Secretary General of the Constitutional Court, for a questioning on Thursday (Oct. 23) related to further investigation into bribery scandal of the handling of Lebak regency post-election dispute.

KPK’s Head of News & Information Priharsa Nugraha explained that KPK will question Janedri as witness for Amir Hamzah, a candidate of Lebak Regent and one of suspects in the case.

KPK has earlier named Amir Hamzah and his running mate Kasmin as suspects in the case.

Amir and Kasmin have been charged with Article 6 Paragraph 1 letter a or Article 13 of the Anti-Corruption Law juncto Article 55 Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) for allegedly bribing Akil Mochtar (former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court and former Golkar Party lawmaker).

Akil Mochtar, meanwhile, has been sent behind the bars. The case had also dragged Ratu Atut Chosiyah (non-active Banten Governor and Golkar key leader) and Tubagus Chaery Wardhana (Ratu Atut’s brother and Golkar politician) as convicts. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
