JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is expected to announce the line-up of the 2014-2019 cabinet on Tuesday (Oct. 21) a day after his inauguration this morning.
Last night, Jokowi has visited the office of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to meet with the KPK leaders. In a one-hour meeting, Jokowi and the KPK leaders have discussed the agenda of corruption eradication movement for the next five years.
According to KPK’s Spokesperson Johan Budi SP, KPK Chief Abraham Samad has delivered the assessment report over ministers’ candidates that earlier requested by Jokowi.
As reported earlier, Jokowi, represented by his Transition Team, has submitted the list of candidates of his cabinet members to the KPK on Friday last week. Jokowi asked the KPK to conduct assessment over those candidates to make sure they are clear from graft allegations.
Previously, Jokowi revealed that his cabinet line-up will be consisted of 33 ministers, including four coordinating ministers. Jokowi, moreover, said 18 cabinet posts will be filled by pure professionals, while 15 other from professionals-affiliated to political parties. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
