JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that the “sprindik”, currently circulated on the net, ordering an investigation into Setya Novanto, is a fake document.

Setya is newly elected Speaker of the House Representatives (DPR) and key leader of Golkar Party.

KPK’s Spokesperson Johan Budi SP said KPK has not yet issued a Sprindik letter on Setya Novanto.

The fake Sprindik itself has circulated since Monday (Oct. 6). The document, signed by the KPK Deputy Chief Bambang Widjojanto on Sep. 25, mentions Setya Novanto as suspect in the graft case related to the 2012 Riau National Games (PON). The document also mentions that KPK has charged the Golkar’s Treasurer with Article 12 letter a or b or Article 11 of the Anti-Corruption Law.

As reported earlier, the 59-year-old politician has been examined by KPK related to further investigation into the PON graft case. KPK even had raided Novanto’s office at DPR last year.

This is not the first leak of fake Sprindik to hit KPK. Previously, a KPK document naming former Democratic Party Chairman Anas Urbaningrum a suspect in the Hambalang graft case was leaked just weeks before he was officially charged on Feb. 22, 2013.

Latest, a KPK document naming Jero Wacik, another Democratic Party key leader and former Energy Minister, a suspect in graft case related to projects at the Energy Ministry was also leaked on September 2013. A year later, Jero Wacik was indeed charged by the KPK as graft suspect. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
