JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned Sutan Bhatoegana, graft suspect and former Head of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission VII, for another questioning on Monday (Oct. 6) related to further investigation into corruption allegation of the so-called holiday bonuses (THR).

This is the second examination for Bhatoegana and this time the President SBY’s Democratic Party politician will be questioned as suspect in the case.

KPK’s Spokesperson Johan Budi SP, however, stated that he doesn’t know on whether or not the KPK will detain Bhatoegana after the questioning.

As reported earlier, on May. 14, the KPK had named Bhatoegana as suspect in corruption allegation related to the so-called holiday bonuses (THR) from the powerful upstream oil & gas regulatory body (SKK Migas) to the leaders and members of the House Commission VII (overseeing energy & mineral resources affairs). KPK had also imposed travel ban to Bhatoegana from overseas travel.

According to KPK’s minutes of investigation (BAP) on the former SKK Migas Head Rudi Rubiandini dated Sep. 4, 2013, Rudi said he delivered US$200,000 in July 2013 to Sutan Bhatoegana through Tri Yulianto, another Democratic Party lawmaker, as a request from Bhatoegana. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
