JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PT Freeport Indonesia is seeking partners for building smelter of copper concentrate which costs US$2.3 billion. The smelter will have capacity of 400,000 tons per year.

Freeport said it commits to build new smelter in Indonesia as its production will in 2021/2022 grow along with the operation of its underground mining.

Freeport and Mitsubishi has previously built smelter through a joint company PT Smelting Gresik.
