JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State cement producer PT Semen Indonesia Tbk (SMGR) plans to build cement mill in Jayapura, Papua which will cost Rp1.2 trillion.
The cement mill will have capacity of 600,000 tons to 1 million tons per year, then SMGR will boost its market share in eartern part of Indonesia, mainly Papua and Maluku, to 70%.
This project will be funded by internal cash (40%) and external funding (60%). Cement consumption in Maluku and Papua reaches 1.5 million tons per year.
SMGR holds 54.4% market share in eastern part of Indonesia, In Maluku, SMGR controls 62.5% market share.
