JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Artha Meris Simbolon, President Director of PT Parna Raya Industri, got first trial Thursday (September 11) as a defendant in the graft scandal at the powerful Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (SKK Migas) implicating former SKK Migas Chief Rudi Rubiandini.
The trial is held at the Jakarta Corruption Court in Kuningan, South Jakarta.
As reported earlier, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has charged Artha Meris with Article 5 Paragraph 1 letter a or b or Article 13 of the Anti-Corruption Law.
Artha Meris was named as suspect in SKK Migas scandal on May 14, 2014. The KPK had alleged Artha Meris for bribing former SKK Migas Chief Rudi Rubiandini. In Rudi’s verdict trial on April 29, panel of judges mentioned that Rudi had received, among others, US$522,500 bribe money from Artha Meris.
Rudi, meanwhile, had been sentenced to 7 years in prison after proven guilty for receiving bribe money. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
