JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Daniel Sparingga, a special staff of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), has been questioned for a second time on Tuesday (September 9) related to a graft case implicating Jero Wacik, former Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources (ESDM) and key leader of Democratic Party.

Priharsa Nugraha, spokesperson of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), as quoted by Kompas.com, explained that KPK has questioned Daniel as witness over Jero Wacik’s blackmailing case. There is not clear whether or not KPK will name another suspects in the case.

Previously, Daniel has been questioned by the KPK’s investigators on June 25, 2014.

Less than three months later, KPK named Jero as graft suspect for allegedly involved in a number of graft cases related to several procurement projects in the ESDM Ministry.

KPK Chief Abraham Samad said Jero is alleged for blackmailing and receiving cash money from, for example, state-run oil & gas company PT Pertamina related to the holiday bonuses, known locally as tunjangan hari raya (THR), to members and leaders of the House of Representatives (DPR) Energy Commission VII.
