JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 0.23% at 5217 Friday (September 5) but trade was volatile. The index moved at range of 5199-5224.

Asian stocks closed mostly in red. European shares were lower in morning trade on Friday as investors booked profit after the European Central Bank (ECB) announced a surprise trio of rate cuts on Thursday.

At Jakarta bourse, Bumi Resources Minerals soared 17.42%, Bumi Resources hiked 2.15% and Berau Coal jumped 5.4%.

Among blue chip stocks, Astra International rose 1.32%, Bank Central Asia increased 2.54%, and BW Plantation lifted 3.7%.

Other gainers were Bank Tabungan Negara (+1.33%), Global Mediacom (+2.89%), Matahari Putra Prima (+1.77%), and Hanson Internasional (+1.5%).

While Waskita Karya fell 1.09%, Aneka Tambang lost 1.26%, Adaro Energy declined 1.45%, and Lippo Karawaci shed 1.88%). The rupiah weakened again to Rp11,770 against the US dollar.
