JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Private tap water operator PT Aetra Air Jakarta posted net profit of Rp73.89 billion in the first half of 2014, increased 3.9% from Rp71.13 billion in the same period of 2013.

Revenues rose 4.9% to Rp550.47 billion from previous Rp524.67 billion. As costs also increased, the company’s operating profit declined 4.3% to Rp132 billion from earlier Rp138.58 billion.

Its assets totaled Rp1.72 trillion while liability amounted Rp1.15 trillion.

The Jakarta Administration intends to acquire Aetra and PT PAM Lyonnaise Jaya (Palyja). The Jakarta Administration cited 40% water leakage as its main concern, and that it would rather acquire Palyja and Aetra right away to reduce the leakage as soon as possible.
