JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended up 0.31% at 5206 Thursday (August 21) but trade was volatile. The index moved at range of 5154-5206.

The index opened in green this morning but turned into red in morning session. As the the verdict trial of presidential election was read by The Constitutional Court (MK) at 2 pm Jakarta time, the index regained.

The Court session has been temporarily suspended to observe the afternoon prayer, and will resume by 4.20 pm.

At 3.19 pm, MK highlighted the lack of evidence presented by Prabowo-Hatta. MK did not find any conclusive evidence of fraud as accused by Prabowo-Hatta.

While Asian shares came under pressure on Thursday as a disappointing survey on Chinese manufacturing overshadowed better news from Japan, Reuters reported.

At Jakarta bourse, Vale Indonesia jumped 4.42%, Bank Rakyat Indonesia gained 1.59%, and Bank Negara Indonesia rose 1.89%.

Other gainers were Waskita Karya (+1.55%), Wijaya Karya (+1.55%), Global Mediacom (+1%), Hanson International (+3.15%), and Visi Media (+3.1%).

Among the losers were Adaro Energy (-3.03%) and Berau Coal fell 1.8%.

Nymex’s crude oil fell 0.76% to US$92.74 per barrel and gold dropped 1.08% to US$1,281.20 per ounce. The rupiah weakened further to Rp11,717 against the US dollar.
