JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President-elect Joko “Jokowi” Widodo admits President SBY’s Democratic Party and PAN would likely join his coalition.

Jokowi’s statement confirmed the recently-circulated rumors saying Democratic Party and PAN will join into Jokowi’s coalition.

The Jakarta Governor, also PDI-P politician, is hoping the process of joining into his coalition (for Democratic Party and PAN) to complete in the near future.

The press is waiting the official statements from chairmen of parties such as PDI-P, Democratic Party, and PAN.

Democratic Party Deputy Chairman Max Sopacua, meanwhile, denied Jokowi’s statement. Talked to Antaranews.com, Max firmly said it is impossible for his party to join PDI-P coalition.

Other than Democratic Party and PAN, the two other political parties of Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa’s Red-White coalition, Golkar and  PPP, have been earlier rumored to also joining PDI-P coalition.

Jokowi’s coalition currently consists of PDI-P, PKB, Nasdem, and Hanura which has 36.96% or 207 seats, out of 560 seats, at the House of Representatives (DPR).

Prabowo’s Red-White coalition consists of Gerindra, Golkar, PAN, PKS, PPP, and Democratic Party which controls 63.04% or 353 parliament seats. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
