JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Constitutional Court schedules to kick off the first trial of the lawsuit of the presidential election results on Wednesday (August 6).
The trial will be held at 9:30 am of Jakarta time.
The Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Hamdan Zoelva will preside the panel of Constitutional Court judges. He will be assisted by 8 judges.
As reported earlier, the National Police will deploy 22,000 police officers to guard the trial.
Previously, the losing pair candidates of president and vice president Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa filed a lawsuit to challenge the results of presidential election announced by the General Election Commission (KPU).
The results pointed to the victory of Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and his running mate Jusuf Kalla as the winner of the election with 53.15% votes. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
