JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has questioned Wardatul Asriah, wife of former Religious Minister and graft suspect Suryadharma Ali, related to further investigation into a graft case of the haj pilgrimage fund during 2012-2013 period implicating her husband.

In a questioning on Wednesday (July 16), the KPK’s investigators also questioned Suryadharma’s son-in-law Rendhika Dheniardy Harsono.

The KPK’s investigators, however, have not yet summoned Suryadharma, who is also Chairman of Islamic-based United Development Party (PPP), for questioning.

As reported earlier, KPK has named Suryadharma as suspect on May 22, 2014, which prompted Suryadharma to resign from his position as Religious Minister.

The KPK has charged Suryadharma with Article 2 Paragraph 1 or Article 3 of the Anti-Corruption Law juncto Article 65 of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP).

The KPK has also asked the Immigration Office to ban Suryadharma from overseas travel for the next six months. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
