JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Jero Wacik, Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources (ESDM) and one of key leaders of President SBY’s Democratic Party, has answered the summon from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for a questioning on Wednesday (July 16) related to a graft case in the Energy Ministry.
Jero however said the KPK’s investigators would only ask his explanation on allegation of graft practices related to a number of state projects worth Rp25 billion at the Energy Ministry since 2010.
Jero also confirmed that the KPK has earlier questioned his wife, Triesnawati Wacik, as witness in the case on July 3, 2014.
The KPK, meanwhile, emphasized it targets another suspects in this case. The KPK had earlier named Waryono Karno, former Secretary General of the Ministry, as suspect.
Other than the graft case of the Energy Ministry’s procurement projects, Jero had previously been questioned for twice related to investigation into graft scandals at the powerful Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (SKK Migas). (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
