Golkar ends up April 9 legislative election as a runner up behind PDI-P. Golkar secured 16.25% or 91 out of 560 parliament seats.

In July 9 presidential election, Golkar endorsed Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa pair instead of former Golkar Chairman Jusuf Kalla, who entered in the race as the running mate of Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.
